An abdominoplasty incision is made slightly below the top of the pubic hair and extended laterally above the groin crease. Dr. Greenwald makes every attempt to keep the incision as low as possible (ie hidden in the underwear). The excess abdominal skin and fat are then removed and the muscles reapproximated in the midline if indicated. Liposuction may be performed for additional contouring. A layered closure od the tissues are then performed after drains are inserted under the skin.
